Who am I?
With this blog, I aim to write about contemporary issues in or affecting the African continent. In general, I capture globally relevant stories and trends in foreign policy, security, and political economy. I am also very much interested in the gender dynamics that are intertwined with these policy areas.
I am an award-winning journalist and my stories have covered regional security, corruption, and regulatory/institutional failure across multiple sectors of the Nigerian economy. I’ve also worked on peace, security, and political violence with a particular focus on Sub-Saharan Africa in Ghana and the United States.
I am rounding off a PhD in African Studies at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, Washington, D.C. My research interests center on communications, psychology, and political violence.
